Walter Sielaff was called to heaven on Aug. 30, 2018.

Walter August Sielaff was born March 6, 1917 to August and Engel Sielaff in Ritzville, Wash. He was christened on April 1, 1917. Walter had three brothers Ronald, Lester and Dale and two sisters Lillian and Amanda. Walter played football in high school where he broke his leg, which kept him out of the service. So he stayed at home and helped his dad with the farm in Ritzville.

Walter married his wife Betty McElain of Sprague, Wash. in 1942 in Queen Anne Lutheran Church in Seattle, then moved to Othello. They had three children David, Kert and Jayne. He has five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; siblings Ronald, Lester, Lillian and Dale; sons David and Kert and one great-grandchild.

A memorial will be held at the Bess Hampton Cemetery on Oct. 6 at noon. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at the Eagles Lodge at 127 E Larch St., Othello. Come join the family and share your memories.
