Royal City Food Bank seeks donations

ROYAL CITY — The Royal City Food Bank has seen a drastic increase in the number of people needing food assistance since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak. As a result, the food bank seeks donations to help fill the needs presented by the community.

Local libraries extend closure date

KENNEWICK — To help citizens stay in compliance with Gov. Jay Inslee’s recently extended stay-home order, the Mid-Columbia Libraries has extended its closure date to Monday, May 4. While the Othello library is closed, patrons have access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and streaming videos available on midcolumbialibraries.org. The library network is also hosting a spring reading challenge in which participants can win digital Amazon gift cards. Fatal traffic accident Sunday morning in Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY — Kristen Icenogle, 52, of Kettle Falls, died in a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 395 near milepost 70 in Adams County just after 10:15 a.m. Sunday, according to a report by Washington State Patrol.

Bevery Water District receives audit finding

BEVERLY — The Beverly Water District failed to file its financial reports for 2016 and 2017 in a timely manner, according to a report from the Washington Auditor’s Office. In addition, the financial statements for 2016 through 2018 had some inaccuracies and didn’t have all the required information, the audit report said.

Othello police seize drugs, arrest man

OTHELLO — The Othello Police Department seized narcotics with a street value of about $180,000 on Saturday, March 28, after serving a warrant in the 200 block of East Cedar Street. Officers seized approximately 5 kilograms of methamphetamine, approximately 840 suspected opiate pills, 25 grams of heroin and two firearms.
